Wondering what I mean when I say that I make my cards using upcycled, repurposed, and recycled materials? This blog series will explain exactly what I mean and why my cards are truly eco-friendly.
It doesn’t mean that I pick things out of the garbage, or off the street. It means I source my materials to create beautiful greeting cards from ethical suppliers.
As of June 2019, I switched my supplier for blank greeting cards, and now all of my greeting cards are 100% recycled. All of them are created with a minimum of 20% post-consumer waste. Many are FSC certified, and produced using green energy.

Atlas & maps cards can be used for so many occasions. Graduation, celebration, just to say hi. They can also be used to encourage a friend or family member getting ready to study abroad, take a sabbatical, or go on the trip of a lifetime.

Then you open the envelope and, surprise! It’s a random greeting card!

I come home from work, excited to get to makin’ cards for the evening. I’ve got ideas and phrases running through my head that I can’t wait to get down on paper. I turn on the TV for background noise and my daily roundup of information provided by Lester Holt and the Nightly News.
I’m doing my thing, I always have to clean up before I start making and start with a clean slate. In the background, something on the news caught my attention…. the greeting card industry is dying.
I listen in and hear what I already believe to be true – that the boring greeting cards bought from retailers are not what people buy or want anymore. The news is saying that CVS and Walmart are making significant cut backs on the space they designate for greeting cards.
